Places to Visit

Kent is extremely popular place for tourists to visit, as well as people from a round England choosing to travel down to Kent to take a short beak. This can be seen for a number of reasons, as previously mentioned Kent is well known for its beautiful scenery with a number of gorgeous gardens that take up the area. The gardens are ta particular attraction point during the summer months when the flowers bloom and the sun is shining, many families often come down and enjoy sports on the fields and they are of course the perfect picnic spot.

Kent also has a number of lovely villages and towns within the area that are popular places for people to visit, particular in the east of Kent where they see their highest number of visitors throughout the year from all around the world. Below we will review just some of the great places Kent has to offer and what you will find there and how you can spend your time;

  • Ashford - this lovely town can be found right in the heart of Kent, and is home to some of the nicest gardens in the region. Ashford in recent years has particularly blossomed in to a cosmopolitan centre that has become more commercial, and therefore is has become a lot more lively. The town was originally a market town but after the Ashford international railway station was built and opened in 1996 it has continued to really make itself a place of the map and it now welcomes many more visitors to the town than before. This is partly down to the station now seeing trains coming through from Paris every day. This has been one of the main reasons as to why the town has become so popular, and it is defiantly to be held responsible for the slight continental feel the town now has to it. Ashford however has lots hold of its roots and is still a rural charm at the heart of it, with its medieval builds and its windmills that date back to the 19th century. The city centre also has a number of high street shops in it as well as Ashford's own one-offs! Eating out is great in the town too as they have such a varied choice of restaurants you won't know which ones to choose from.

  • Maidstone - found in the centre of south east of Kent Maidstone is the county town of Kent. It is extremely popular as it holds some of the most beautiful views that can be seen as you take a stroll along its river banks of the River Medway that runs through the town. You are also able to take a cruise down the river itself, something that has become extremely popular with visitors as it allows you not only to take in the gorgeous views of Maidstone but also of the local towns; Sevenoaks, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Ashford and Tonbridge. The trip is defiantly one for a photograph lover as you get to see the best parts of the town taking in their Georgian elements and picturesque views.
